He was an honouree at this year's IJA convention in North Carolina, for his organization and mentoring of young jugglers. Paul, Calder, Davin and I had the pleasure of watching his performance at the Honours banquet on Saturday. He was also using a number of rolla bollas in a manner that made me glad to not be his mother! That is so totally awesome, and part of what is so great about it is how much Vova seems to be enjoying himself! He makes his audience feel the music and the joy he takes in his performance with it. On a personal note, I met Vova's American legal Guardian, Sue Bakalor. She is the mom of Vova's video director, Mark, and that video was shot completely in Sue's California home, where Vova and his younger sister Olga have been living for the past couple of years. We started using every space that we could get and juggle in it but later we were getting into the gym and getting into the newspaper. I saw the new edition, front page! Very cool to be part of somthing like this. And now we are going to be part of Bowfest just like last year.
